The best games are games that break boundaries, ones that are fresh in appearance, creativity, and content. Sleeping dogs is one such game. It has a unique style with cartoonish graphics and interesting story telling throughout the game. It was popular amongst PC gamers because it offered a very different experience from what most people were used to from other video games. Sleeping dogs is a game that focuses on the life of the protagonist Wei Shen who was brought up in San Francisco, but later left because he had to seek refuge after his family was betrayed. This betrayal meant that his illegal activity and affiliations would be revealed and this could put his family in danger. He decides to leave for Hong Kong and live under a new identity. However, when he arrives in Hong Kong, he has a problem with the triad gang who betrayed him back home. The gang forces him into a position where his allegiance lies with them or they will hurt his family. He chooses to work with them and becomes their undercover cop. He rises through the ranks of the Hong Kong police force while being a part of the triad gang. Sleeping dogs was created by United Front Games who are well known for the MX vs. ATV series. The company is based in Canada and their main focus is on creating open world racing games. However, they decided to make Sleeping Dogs because they wanted to make something different for themselves, instead of making another racing game. They wanted to challenge themselves by creating another type of game. This is where the inspirations for Sleeping dogs came from. They wanted it to be something new, different, and unique, one that was imaginative. The game focuses on Wei Shen who is left in an ethnic Chinese territory after he is betrayed by his gang boss and must make new friends as well as learn about himself. He must find out the truth behind his family's betrayal and how he got placed in Hong Kong with no thought of him leaving it alive. He holds both sides of the gang boss against each other as well as rivals with each other to cause more chaos and mistrust amongst them. The game is unique because it offers an open world environment to the player. The main character can travel to any part of Hong Kong, be it residential areas or industrial and urban areas and do anything and everything he wants to do. If the player wants him to be police chief for example, he will have to complete all of his missions as a police officer before he can accept the position. An aspect very different from other video games is that Wei Shen can choose whether or not he wants to work with the Hong Kong triads, but this choice isn't made until later in the game when there is no turning back for either side. cfa1e77820
